Federation’s athletes in action today in RIO

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts- THE Federation’s top male sprinters will all be in action today (Aug. 13) at the Rio Olympics Games when the men’s 100m gets underway.

     

    Kim Collins, Brijesh Lawrence and Antoine Adams will be competing in the morning session of the preliminary competition.

     

    Collins will open the local bid when he goes on track at approximately 11:12 am (10:12 a.m. local time) in the second of the Heat races in that competition. He would be running in lane two.

     

    Adams, with a season best of 10:18s, will compete in Heat six along with Jamaican Yohan Blake, who is expected to win the race after he posted a season beat of 9:94s.

     

    Two-time defending Gold medalist, Jamaican Usain Bolt will compete in Heat seven where he too is expected to easily win the race dispatch the field,. That race comes up at 11:36 a.m. (10:36a.m. local time).

     

    Lawrence on the other hand, will be competing in the final Heat, where he will be running out of lane three at approximately 11:50 a.m. (10:50a.m. local time).

     

    The semi-finals and finals will take place tomorrow evening (Aug. 14) at the same venue.
