Gunmen rob Cayon supermarket

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A Cayon establishment was robbed last evening (Aug. 24) by two armed individuals who made off with a sum of money and thankfully, not was hurt in the process.

     

    Information reaching SKNVibes indicates that the incident occurred at Parris Shopping Centre, Water Works shortly before 9:00 p.m. 

     

    The two masked individuals reportedly entered the business – where one of the proprietors was – and demanded money, which was given to them.

     

    They managed to successfully flee the scene but this publication understands that a gunshot(s) was discharged during the robbery process.

     

    The Crime Scene Unit of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force was called to the scene for processing.

     

    The public, specifically business owners and operators, is being advised to pay close attention to individuals who are loitering and or exhibiting strange behaviour near on in these establishments. Once this is observed, the appropriate authorities should be notified so that checks can be made or action taken.

     

    The Police Force had previously advised business owners to invest in security and monitoring systems as a deterrent to deviant behaviour and as a means of safeguarding themselves, their customers and their business.

     

    Persons having information about the robbery are asked to contact either the Cayon Police Station at 465-7258 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS).
