Sugar City Toastmasters Strikes Again!
Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 15th, 2016 -- On Saturday 6th August 2016, at the H. S. Hanley Conference Room, Bird Rock, Sugar City Toastmasters Club, expressively known as SCTMC, celebrated two (2) of its members, Toastmasters (TMs) Clauja Bradshaw and Zeva Alcendor, who completed their 10th Speech project.
These two (2) young ladies were awarded with their Competent Communication (CC) pin, a complimentary signed photo from Vice President Education (VPE) Eartha Cassius, and fresh flowers. The night was truly "Perfumed with Excitement" (the name of one TM Clauja’s passed speeches) as the ladies “Strike A Pose!” (one of TM Zeva’s passed speeches) at the numerous cameras present. However, the ladies took the night away with their inspirational pieces titled, “LOOK BACK FOR WHAT?!?!” presented by Vice President Public Relations Clauja Bradshaw & “High-Five” presented by Toastmaster Zeva Alcendor!
The night was not over just yet! The crowd and these young ladies roared with laughter at the Roast of the evening given by VPE Eartha Cassius, of the CC Celebrants. (A roast is an event in which a specific individual, a guest of honor, is subjected to good-natured jokes at their expense intended to amuse the event's wider audience. This type of event was created as a mock counter to a toast.) Sugar City Toastmasters Club & Family truly brought to life Franklin D. Roosevelt’s quote which said: “Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.” TMs Clauja and Zeva, were wished all the best on their continued journey of advancement in public speaking and leadership skills.
