BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WHILE details regarding last night’s road fatality are still sketchy, the Police have informed that it resulted from a collision between a motorcycle and a taxi.

A press release issued today (Aug. 29) by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force explained that the incident took place shortly before 7:00 p.m. in New Guinea.

It claimed the life of Junieve ‘Spaz’ Hodge, a 22-year-old male of Sandy Point, who was at the time operating his motorcycle.

The release indicated that according to police investigations, “the incident involved motor omnibus TA475 driven by Terrence Somersal of Downing Street, Sandy Point and a motor cycle owned and driven by the deceased.”

It makes no mention, however, of the direction in which the vehicles were travelling at the time of impact. It also doesn’t speak to whether or not the Somersal was taken into police custody following the incident.

The Police have informed that the officers attached to the Sandy Point Police Station are making investigations into the incident.

The deceased in the son of Superintendent of Prisons Junie ‘Scrape’ Hodge.

As news of the young man’s death began circulating, several individuals took to his Facebook page expressing their feelings at the unfortunate situation and penning words of encouragement to his family.
