Jamrock Bar hits Frigate Bay Strip with a bang

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, ST. Kitts – MANAGEMENT of Jamrock Sports Bar, one of the Federation’s popular hangout spots, has made it the establishment more convenient for patrons to socialize as they have moved to another location.

Formerly located next to Ship Wreck on the Southeast Peninsula, the bar is now situated along the busy Frigate Bay Strip, where patrons can have easy access and save on time and gas.

Last evening (Oct. 14), management opened the door to their new and more spacious bar to the media and approximately 100 well-wishers, friends and supporters.

Popular radio personality Andre ‘Magic Man’ Phipps, who kept the evening’s proceedings ‘jiggy’, told SKNVibes that the event was the opening and culmination of the relocation of the hangout spot.

He noted that the establishment took five months to move from it former location but it was well worth it, adding that relocating was part of a change that was needed by the owner of the bar, Michael Clarke.

“We found that it was a time for change. Instead of having everybody always going over to the Peninsula, it is much better if they come over here on the Frigate Bay Strip. This was available to Michael and he decided to take advantage of the opportunity and open a new Jamrock here.”

General Manager of Jamrock Bar, Dominic Stevens told SKNVibes that the new location comes at a time when the company is expanding its operation, as they have divided the space to make it convenient for the new service on offer.
“We are introducing a new thing here for fine dining. This is the first time that he [Clarke] is going into fine dining. When you come here you would find that part of the restaurant would be set for fine dining and the other part would be the regulars.”

He also said that the bar would continue to offer cocktails for those looking to have a drink.

Steven explained that while at the former location, the establishment was described simply as a beach bar, but now it has more to offer and would be open later than usual.

He is optimistic that their new service would see them being kept above their competitors.
