BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO young employees of Kajola Kristada, who joined the staff not more than two years ago, have the honour of being named the company’s August and September 2016 Employees of the Month (EoM).

The winners are Tashleen Nisbett of the SMT Line and Shadia Dunrod of the Super Trap Line, the former being the August EoM and the latter being September’s.

Both of them have won the award for the first time since the programme began several years ago.

Announcements of the winners took the usual form with members of the EoM Committee taking to the plant’s floor with items to make noise of jubilation. And both of them indicate that shortly before finding out that they had won their respective awards, they were scared.

Nisbett – who has been employed with Kajola for the past two years – haven gotten past the initial anxiety, stating that she was relieved and elated at her accomplishment.

Employed with Kajola for less than a year, Dunrod said she too is happy with her accomplishment and offered a word of advice to her colleagues who were employed longer than she has and who are yet to win the EoM award.

“Try your best in all you do to further yourself and to excel in the job that is given. Also try your best to produce the best products you can make.”

Line Leader Julianna Griffin spoke well of both young women, declaring that they are focused, hard-working and dependable.

Nisbett, she said, is “a good worker and always tries her best to make her rates. She is a very good worker”.

And she described Dunrod as “a tremendous worker. Anywhere you put her to work she works and she does it well. At one point she came over to SMT to work and they keep begging to have her, because everything she puts her mind to she gets the job done. She is exceptional in everything; her attitude, her work ethic, everything, 100 percent”.

Griffin offered congratulations to both ladies on her behalf and also that of their Supervisor Valarie Adams.

She also gave advice to those who have yet to win the Employee of the Month award.

“One of the things they have to do is to change their attitude and their work ethic; the way they think about the job. These younger ones came and they know that they have a job to do and they put their mind to it to get it done. They focus on what they have to do.”

    Congratulations, Tashleen and Shadia.
