Basseterre, St. Kitts (October 21, 2005): Assistant Director of the Consumer Affairs Department Mr. Perry Peets revealed that the Consumer Affairs Department will be relocating in the near future.
The move he said would be to the ground floor of the Scotch House which was the former premises of the Development Bank on Church Street.  He said this during a St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service interview while gaving an update on the upgrade of Consumer Affairs.

He also said that among other activities, a Consumer Affairs Board would be appointed by the Ministry.

The Assistant Director further noted that his department is working on the establishment of service standards for the electricity and water departments.

These service standards will assist the departments in the establishment of their customer charters.

The charters will then be published along with the electricity and water departments policies.  This document will contain the procedures that will enable customers to solve certain issues that they may have with the departments.

The full interview with Mr. Peets will be aired on an upcoming SKNIS Update.
