One suspect in custody in murder/robbery incident

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A suspect in the incident that left one woman dead and her partner nursing gunshot wounds has been taken into custody, police sources have confirmed.

     

    The incident for which he was picked up occurred on Friday evening (Oct. 31) when Seymour Liburd and Arlene Nisbett of Reliable Security Services were going to drop off a deposit at a bank in the S. L. Horsford’s Complex at Wellington Road.

    They were fired upon by a bandit(s) and both were struck; the female was reportedly hit in the stomach and both legs while the male was reportedly struck in one of his legs and his side.

    SKNVibes understands that the assailant(s) made good their escape with the deposit.

    Both victims were transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital where the female succumbed to her injuries early the following morning.

    Arlene was the Federation’s 27th murder victim for the year.

    SKNVibes understands that on Sunday (Oct. 30), a young man, said to be from the Shadwell area, was taken into police custody. It is understood that, as of this afternoon, he had not been charged or released.
