BASSETERRE (8th November, 2016): The MS Mein Schiff 4 of TUI Cruises will visit St. Kitts today for the very first time, with a maximum capacity of 2506 passengers.
The ship will dock at Port Zante from 8am to 5pm.
Mein Schiff 4, which in English means "My Ship 4," is a cruise ship owned by TUI Cruises. Built by Meyer Turku Shipyard in Turku, Finland, she was floated out on 10th October 2014, delivered to TUI Cruises on 8 May 2015, and christened by former Olympic swimmer Franziska van Almsick in Kiel, Germany, on 5 June 2015.
The Mein Schiff 4 carries passengers who are young and young-at-heart, sophisticated and love TUI Cruises' onboard lifestyle. The German cruise line offers an all inclusive concept and casual atmosphere. Besides steady quality, the Mein Schiff 4 also convinces its passengers with music events and theme cruises. The main onboard language is German.
For the most part, Mein Schiff 4 is a copy of her highly successful sister ship, Mein Schiff 3.
For the 2016-’17 season a total of 16 ships will make inaugural calls to St. Kitts.
In the last cruise season (2015-’16) cruise ships made 373 calls to St. Kitts, bringing 913,716 passengers, which was the most ever in a cruise season. The 2016-’17 cruise season is expected to be another record breaking season with a projected 1,125,927 passengers, from 391 cruise ship calls.
