BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - LUXURY real estate brand Christophe Harbour has opened up the local market to new opportunities for artwork done by citizens and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis.

This comes as the company has given locals the opportunity to showcase their work and have them on sale at the impending Customs House at the Marina, which is expected to be completed sometime in the new year.

At a recently held exhibition at the Pavilion in the Southeast Peninsula, a number of artists showcasing their work, ranging from glass creations to handbags and sculptures from bricks, just to name a few pieces that were on display.

Dale Kelly, one of the artists, told reporters that it is a great opportunity for her and other local in that field to get an opportunity to showcase some locally-created products that are of a high standard.

“We were invited by Christophe Harbour to showcase some of the best that St. Kitts has to offer. All of the homeowners are here visiting for a week and they have come in to see our products. In fact, they are very surprised at the quality of work that they are seeing here,” Kelly said.

A potter and milliner by trade, Kelley said she would be operating a shop at the Customs House when it is completed and would be showcasing primarily locally-created artwork.

“I would be one of the first shops in Christophe Harbour’s Customs Building. In fact, we were invited by Christophe Harbour to open a local shop. The name of the shop would be Dale Original Art and Style.

“The reason why we named it Art and Style is because we have many classic artists who are using different mediums, but the work has to be made in St. Kitts.”

Christophe Harbour’s Catherine Verano explained that it has been one of the goals of the company to offer the most authentic experience for their members and guest.

This, she explained, “involves integrating much of the local aspects of the Federation into what they have to offer.

“What we like about it is that the people would buy them and put them in their homes, and there is always that little bit about St. Kitts there with them.””

With the size and reach of the Christophe Harbour brand, Verano is optimistic that they could promote the local artwork all across the globe.
