BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - ON his Royal Visit to St. Kitts and Nevis today (Nov. 23), Prince Harry made a surprise stop at the Halfway Tree Pre-school to interact with the teachers and pupils of that learning institution.
While on his way to Brimstone Hill, the young Prince detoured and visited the Middle Island Church where he, along with Governor General His Excellency Sir Tapley Seaton paid respects to the late Sir Thomas Warner.
Historically, Warner was of the planter class and was appointed sole Governor of St. Christopher for life on September 29, 1627 and on November 4, 1643 he was constituted Governor and Lieutenant-General of the Caribee Islands.
Sir Thomas Warner died on March 10, 1649 in St. Kitts and was buried in a tomb in Middle Island.
Following his visit to the tomb, Prince Harry preceded to the Halfway Tree Pre-school where he interacted with the teachers and pupils.
The Prince had unveiling a plaque at Brimstone Hill on behalf of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth ll, and has left St. Kitts to visit sister isle Nevis.
