BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (November 28, 2016) -- Following games played (and not played) on Sunday November 27 in the James Harris Cricket League at the Mansion Stadium, the two home teams in the competition - Limers (Front Street) and Back Street - have each assured themselves of a place in the semi-finals.

When Limers came up against Molineux, the home team batted first and made 88 for 6 from 11 overs with Kevin ‘Love Sponge’ Bradshaw 31 not out, Ansel Revan 30, and Tasmel Henry 16. Bowling for Molineux, Kolis Duke took two for 21, Carlton Welcome one for 23, and Joseph Tyson one for 14.

With 11 overs to overcome the deficit, Molineux came batting with a purpose but unfortunately for them they could only make 66 for 7 with Quincy ‘Puppet’ Taylor making 18 and K. Skeete making 13. Bowling for Limers Kevin ‘Love Sponge’ Bradshaw took three for 11, Ansel Raven two for 22, and Kennedy Hazel one for seven.

Limers won the game by 22 runs. They have completed their preliminary stage games with four wins and one loss, assuring them of a place in the final four which will bowl off on Sunday December 11. However, before the final preliminary stage game is played on Sunday December 4 between the unbeaten Lodge and high-contender Christchurch, Limers won’t know who their opponent at the final four will be.

The handful and partisan crowd that had turned up to cheer the other home team, Back Street, was disappointed as they did not see their team in action but were extremely excited that their team sailed into the final four as their opponent, Tabernacle, was a no-show. At the end of the preliminary stage games, Back Street have won two games and lost three but have guaranteed themselves a place in the final four.

With only six teams taking part in this year’s edition of the James Harris Cricket League, two teams Tabernacle and Molineux have been eliminated. Tabernacle lost all their games, while Molineux could only beat Tabernacle (on Sunday October 23) and lost all the other games.

The other confirmed two teams in the final four are the unbeaten Lodge, and Christchurch who have lost one game so far. The two will meet on Sunday December 4 to determine the order of the final four positions, and who meets who in the final four.

This final preliminary stage game will be a decisive one. If Lodge wins, it will mean that they would have topped the preliminary stage standings with a total of five wins followed by Limers with four wins. But should Christchurch turn the tables on them, there will be a three-way tie with Christchurch, Lodge, and Limers each winning four games.
