BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Federation has recorded its 30th homicide for the year with the shooting death of a young Cayon resident last night (Dec. 3).
The victim was identified as Jamal McSheen, who is also known as Jamal Benjamin, of Cayon.
According to information reaching this publication, the 33-year-old was shot multiple times shortly before 11:00 p.m. in the vicinity of Hummingbird Circle in Bird Rock and reportedly died at the scene.
Reports also stated that he was seen at a football match at Warner Park shortly before his demise.
In a press release, police had confirmed the shooting incident and stated that initial investigations revealed that McSheen was shot by an unknown assailant around 10:45 p.m.
It also stated that investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit and the Criminal Investigations Depertment as well as technicians from the Forensic Services Unit had canvassed the scene for items of evidential value.
Investigations are ongoing.
