Roadtown, Tortola - Government is inviting tenders from Virgin Islands (UK) licensed insurance companies for a Group Health Insurance Plan.

The plan must provide comprehensive coverage for all Government employees, retirees and their dependents who are members covered under the existing plan as of December 31, 2009. 

The health insurance plan should also provide a number of benefits which include, but are not limited to, the following: coverage of pre-existing conditions, major medical insurance; world-wide 24 hours a day coverage; local office/agent; maximum lifetime benefits; maximum out-of-pocket; substantial term life insurance for insured and dependents; disability insurance, amongst other benefits.

Tenderers will be required to submit a valid insurance license issued pursuant to the Insurance Act 1994 or a copy of an insurance license application submitted to the Commissioner of Insurance. 

Additionally, tenderers must submit certificates of good standing from the Director of the Social Security Board, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue and the Registrar of Corporate Affairs, as well as a valid trade license.  The certificates issue dates should be no earlier than one month prior to the date of submission.

Tender documents are available upon request from the Chairman of the Public Tenders Committee in the Procurement Unit of the Ministry of Finance and will be distributed effective Monday, June 8 until Friday, June 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The documents must be accompanied by a non-refundable $50 fee paid by cash or bank cashier’s cheque payable to the Accountant General. The deadline for the submission of tenders is Tuesday, July 7 no later than 10 a.m.
