By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE list of attacks on bread delivery buses and or their drivers continues to grow with the latest incident taking place this morning (Jan. 4), leaving a young man with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

The incident – according to a police press release – took place at about 8:00 a.m. in the Farms Housing, Sandy Point area.

SKNVibes understands that it was an American Bakery delivery bus which was making deliveries in that area, when the driver “was approached by an individual who shot him”.

The Police have also informed that he was shot in his torso and was taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital where he is “undergoing treatment”.

The victim’s identity has not yet been revealed but the Police’s release lists him as a 25-year-old St. Pauls resident.

Over the past several months, a number of incidents have taken place where workers on bread delivery buses have been attacked by gun-toting individuals who have demanded that they be given money.

Appeals have been made by the Police for the public’s assistance in solving these cases and a similar appear has been issued regarding this case.

“The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police appeals to anyone who may have been in the area and may have seen the incident to come forward with any information they may have.

“Persons can do so by calling the Violent Crimes Unit at 465-2241 ext 4358 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-88477 (TIPS).”
