Tuesday 10th January, 2017 -- Seventeen (17) Track and Field coaches successfully completed the Olympic Solidarity sponsored IAAF Coaches Education and Certification System (CECS) Level 1 Course which was held recently held over the period December 2nd to December 13th, 2016.

The course was conducted by IAAF Lecturers: Mr Craig Connor and Ms Roatter Johnson. Some of the topics covered included Biomechanics, Anatomy, Nutrition, Weight Lifting, Physiology, Psychology, Communication, Training Planning, etc. Coaches were also required to sit a practical and a written exam.
“I am pleased that we now have seventeen (17) more qualified coaches who will no doubt make a difference in the lives of our upcoming athletic stars in terms of proper preparation”, said SKNAAA President, Glenville Jeffers.
The Closing Ceremony was held on Tuesday, December 13th, 2016 at the Ocean Terrace Inn (OTI). In attendance at the Closing Ceremony were Mr Stanley Knight, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sport, Mr Alphonso Bridgewater, NOC President, Mr Glenville Jeffers, SKNAAA President, Mr Lester Hanley and Mrs Jennifer Nero, NOC Executive Members and Mr Lonzo Wilkinson, the Course Secretary.
Each participant received internationally recognized certificates from both the IAAF and the International Olympic Committee for having successfully completed the course.
