BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – PHYLLISIA ROSS, the singer featured in Jah Cure’s recent hit song ‘Call on Me’, is making headway in her career as she recently collaborated with Grammy award winning Ne-Yo and Rapper Flo-Rida on a single.

The song is called ‘Sunshine’ and showcases Ross’ extraordinary talents and amazing vocals, which first got her recognised on the Call on Me track with fellow Sobe Entertainment label mater Jah Cure.

‘Sunshine’ is a beautiful love song in which the artistes speak of having sunshine even when it is cold outside.

Ross’ debut album, entitled ‘Lady Amour’, is scheduled for release later this year and has three platinum producers (Steve Morales, Scott Storch and Big "D") contributing to it.

Another single that could be a possible hit from the album is ‘Fairy Tale’ which was recently released.

The album is said to exemplify her vocal ability as she delivers R&B and Pop classics to her audience. In memory of her father, she wrote and co-produced the heart wrenching ‘Daddy's Little Girl’ as her signature performance on the album.

"This song is my way of showing my dad what he really means to me. Although he was taken from me at such an early age, his impact and influence on me has been monumental. He has given me the inspiration I need to try and reach all the goals that I have set for myself, not only in music, but academically as well," she said of the song.

It was at the tender age of three that Ross knew she was destined to be an entertainer, and her father bought her first piano at age five after seeing her play one that was owned by a neighbour.

Her father’s passing when she was 10 years old was a traumatic period in her life, but she had made a promise to him that she would fulfill both her wishes and his, which were to become an entertainer and a doctor.

Today, she is a junior majoring in Biology and is on her way to become a paediatrician and an entertainer.

She is inspired by artistes such as Sade, Anita Baker, and Alicia Keys, and her smooth and soulful vocals are reminiscent of a combination of all three styles.

Her goal is to “positively influence people in many different ways; most importantly, through music, but also through academics, integrity and character."
