Grab those walking shoes it's time for the National Trust's Annual Heritage Trail!

The St. Christopher Nation Trust is gearing up for its annual Heritage Trail that is being hosting on February 18th as part of History and Heritage Month.

The trail will take you through the historic Charles Fort past the old chapel and up the Brimstone Hill Road to the Lime Kiln.  For the more adventurous, there is an add-on trail up the side of Brimstone Hill to the gatekeeper’s house.

Named after King Charles II (who sent £500 to assist in its construction) Charles Fort served as a military complex from 1670 to 1854 and was then abandoned.  In 1890 it was re-occupied as a Hansen Home (leper asylum) and was finally closed in 1996.

Interpretation of the history and nature of the area will be provided and refreshments will be served afterwards.

    Members: EC$15.00

    Non-Members: $25.00

To register visit the National Trust office in the old Treasury Building or contact us at (869)465-5584 or schs@sisterisles.kn
