BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 25TH 2005
    - Kittitians and Nevisians living in New York and the neighboring American States get an opportunity on Thursday to hear first hand about developments in the twin-island Federation.

Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Denzil L. Douglas, will use the opportunity of a stopover in New York on his way home from an Official Visit to Japan, to hold a public meeting in the Bronx on Thursday night at 7 'o' clock.

He is expected to inform nationals during the meeting in the Auditorium of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church about the economic, political and social strides made over the last year following his Labour Party's re-election to a third term consecutive term in Government.

The St. Kitts and Nevis leader is expected to highlight the several plans in the areas of hotel development in particular and tourism in general, agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructural development, national security, social development, the economic challenges and regional and international issues.

The meeting in New York is one of several events to mark the victory in the 2004 General Election.

    In other events:

Friday 28th October has been designated "Wear Red Day" and a Take-Away-Luncheon will be held at the Bay Road, West of the Old Treasury Building. Organisers say patrons stand a chance of winning several valuable prizes.

The signing of the Agreement for the upgrade and expansion of the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport will be held on Friday 4th November.

A Special Delegates Conference of the ruling St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party will convene at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort on Sunday 6th November to elect a new National Executive.

At the Labour Party's 73rd Conference last May, the election of a new National Executive was deferred until the recommendations of a Special Committee is discussed and accepted for a new administrative structure.
