I want to leave a legacy the people of St. Kitts and Nevis can be proud of, proclaims Prime Minister Harris

By: OPM, Press Release

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, February 17th, 2017 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Two years after successfully leading the Team Unity Coalition to a resounding victory in the 2015 General Elections, Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris believes the Government of National Unity is holding true to the promises made to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Speaking with the Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister, Dr. Harris, the six-time elected representative for Constituency Seven, said his goal as Prime Minister of the twin-island federation is to leave a legacy that every Kittitian and Nevisian can be proud of.

“It has been a real honour to serve; to serve humbly from this high elevated office of Prime Minister of this country and I am a citizen first and foremost of St. Kitts and Nevis. I want that my work should be so outstanding that all citizens, all fair-minded persons – whatever their political affiliation – could reasonably and justifiably say the conduct, the behavior and the performance of Dr. Harris as our leader and prime minister have been outstanding. I wish well for the people of the country and I will do my very best to ensure that I create a legacy, a legacy of which the people of St. Kitts and Nevis can be proud,” Prime Minister Harris stated.

In 2013, Dr. Harris established the People's Labour Party (PLP) which later came together with the People's Action Movement (PAM) and the Concerned Citizens' Movement (CCM) to form the Team Unity Coalition.

The alliance won the February 16th, 2015 general elections, paving the way for the Honourable Dr. Timothy Harris to become the third Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis.
