Miss Sports and Development

Clivette Nias is our first featured contestant and also contestant number one in the 2008 Miss Basseterre High School Pageant.

She will be competing against four other contestants on Friday, November 7, at Carnival Village.
The other four contestants that will be competing are Crystal Nias, Miss Technology; Amanda Payne, Miss Industry; Berriscia Byron, Miss Education and Kerchelle Harris, Miss Diversity.

Extracurricular Activities:
I am a part of Teen Challenge and as a result of my participation in this club I have become a more disciplined dancer and learned self-control. I am also a member of the Anglican Young People’s Association.

Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?

In the next 10 years I see myself as a successful Accountant in the RBTT Bank.

What do you hope to gain by entering this pageant?

By entering this pageant I hope to gain more self-confidence, self-esteem, public speaking skills and a general positive development of character.

Role Model: Miss Adossity Nias, because she helps me out with everything.

What do you think are the major problems that affect teenagers today and how would you solve them?

The problems that I think affect teens the most are drugs and teenage pregnancy. These problems can be solved by having parents listen to and positively interact with their children and become aware of the persons whom they associate with, and by teaching females about sex and promoting abstinence.
Outline of Pageant Experience:

This is my first pageant; however I am not fearful because I have been exposed to performing before large audiences.
