~~Adz:Right~~BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis has recorded its 15th homicide in just eight months with the shooting death of an Ottleys Village resident.

Reports reaching SKNVibes state that Steve Pemberton, also known as Steam Fish, was shot multiple times to the body in Ottleys Village last night and died on arrival at the Joseph N France General Hospital.

A police press release informed that the incident occurred at about 11:25 p.m. on Saturday, August 23 in an alley within the area known as Italy in Ottleys Village.

It also said investigations revealed that the 30-year-old Pemberton was walking through the alley when he was attacked by an armed man who fired several shots at him.

“He sustained multiple gunshot injuries and was taken to the JNF Hospital where he later died,” the release added.

One individual was held on suspicion and is currently assisting police in their investigation.
Pemberton’s death marks the 15th homicide committed in the Federation for the year; two on Nevis and the remainder on St. Kitts.

Just 12 days earlier, 23-year-old Delvis Romney of Parsons Village was shot in a bar while attending a party in Lynches.

He was transported by the owner of the bar to Pogson Hospital in Sandy Point, from where a Unit of the Emergency Medical Services took him to the JNF General Hospital. He was later pronounced dead at that institution.

Since then, a young man from Sandy Point was arrested and charged with his murder.
