CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – THE Shekhinah Dance Theatre closed off its 2009 season with its first annual dance competition on Saturday (June 6) at the St. John’s Primary School.

Under the theme “Give God the Glory”, the young ladies showcased the moves they learnt during the past year to the appreciation of an audience that consisted of mostly parents.

Competition was held in the junior and senior divisions, and when the dancing was over the results showed Naomi Thompson winning the juniors and Lenore Mogent the seniors.

Thompson was followed by Tyana Liburd and Terrika Nisbett in that order, while First and Second Runners-up positions were awarded to Cleanda Roberts and Irveeka Nisbett in the senior division.

The ceremony, chaired by Diana Pemberton, also saw several dances by the various groups – the Moon, the Stars and the Suns.

The girls were all presented with certificates of achievement for passing Level One of the Ballet and Creative Dancing course offered by Shekhinah.
