Prime Minister Harris to host Constituency Health Walk this coming Saturday

By: OPM, Press Release

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, March 31, 2017 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris will kick off the month of April with a Constituency #7 Health Walk on Saturday 1st.

Prime Minister Harris, the Parliamentary Representative for Christopher 7, will walk alongside residents of his constituency which stretches from Belle Vue to Ottley’s Village.

Dr. Harris, who also serves as CARICOM’s lead spokesperson on human resource, health and HIV matters, has been holding the Constituency #7 Health Walk for several years.

With chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs), also known as lifestyle diseases, becoming a significant issue in the Caribbean region, Prime Minister Harris hosts the monthly health walks in a bid to promote healthier lifestyles among his constituents.

According to Dr. Harris, the health walk is intended to encourage all persons to engage in unplanned physical activities and underscores the importance of an exercise regime that can lead to good health.

Saturday’s health walk will commence in Belle Vue at 5:30am and end at the Ottley’s hard court where participants will be treated to a light breakfast.
