GIS, 4 April 2017 - The public is notified that a recall has been issued for EpiPen and EpiPen Jr. Auto Injector manufactured by Meridian Medical Technologies and distributed by Mylan Specialty.

Chief of Drugs and Pharmaceutical Services, Mrs. Gracia Wheatley Smith said that Meridian Medical Technologies is voluntarily recalling 13 lots of Mylan Epipen and Epipen Jr. Auto Injector products used for emergency treatment of severe allergic reactions.

Mrs. Wheatley Smith stated the devices may contain a defective part that can result in their failure to activate.  This she said may result in not being able to administer the medicine in the case of an allergic reaction emergency.
