BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE effects of crime and violence were experienced by man who was not only robbed, but was shot and beaten over the head in the process.
The incident, as was indicated by the Police, took place at about 1:30p.m. yesterday (Apr. 8) when two individuals were walking in the Boyd’s area.
“(The) victim and another male were robbed by unknown assailants. He was shot during the incident…(The) incident occurred when the victim and another male were on a bushy trail en route to a plot of land in the area.”
SKNVibes has confirmed that the name of the injured party is Kyle Bridgewater and while information suggests that he was shot in the shoulder, other information received by this publication suggests that he was shot in the hand. This media house, however, has yet to receive conformation in this regard.
It was also confirmed to this publication that the victim has wounds to his head. And while it appears that he was struck in that area, this media house has been unable to confirm that these blows were delivered with the use of a gun, as has been suggested.
Bridgewater was reportedly taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment. The other individual was fortunate enough to escape the ordeal without physical injury.
Officers attached to the Violent Crimes Unit are making investigations into the incident.
