BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AS one of the leading entertainment websites in the Caribbean, SKNVibes intends to maintain its high standard and has done so with the recent launch of a show called “Watch Dem Coming”.
Watch Dem Coming was officially launched on Friday, June 12 and is hosted by Cherisse Sutton-Jeffers and Kesean ‘Hi-Light’ James. Contents for the 10-minute show will be shot on each Friday after 4:00 p.m. and posted on the following Friday. For example, the content of last week Friday’s video shoot will be posted on the site from as early as 8:00 a.m. this Friday.
According to Sutton-Jeffers, the show is the brainchild of an SKNVibes official. “Who pitched the idea to me and I came up with some name possibilities. We then came together with James and Cliff Richards, SKNVibes’ Chief Operating Officer, and decided to go with Watch Dem Coming."
She said Watch Dem Coming is about capturing the different styles, actions, behaviours and personalities of people on Fridays after work in downtown Basseterre. “Friday is the last working day of the week for most people and that’s when they free up and lime and get loose; so we just want to capture that,” Sutton-Jeffers added.
She noted that some of the things they would touch on are the way people dress, the liming spots, slangs, hot topics and jokes. “We just want to have clean fun, free up ourselves and interact with the people out there.”
James said he definitely enjoyed shooting content for the first show and was surprised at the feedback from people and their willingness to participate, although there were those who ran from the camera crew.
He added: “I enjoy entertaining people and Cherisse and I work well together, so I know Watch Dem Coming will do well. When I was told about the idea for the show, I immediately agreed because I know that this is my kind of thing.”
The two hosts advised that when individuals see them on the streets, “feel free to call us and big up the show, because we are open to everyone”.
The first episode of Watch Dem Coming can be viewed on Friday, June 19 but for now, the promo can be seen on the Entertainment/PEP page.
