BASSETERE, St. Kitts – DESPITE the delay in their game against RAM’S Village Superstars, FLOW 4G Cayon Rockets laid down the hammer in a 4-nil victory to progress to the Finals even though one more game is to be played.
The game, which was held over from Saturday (May 27) due to a shooting incident in Warner Park that left one person injured and had others scampering to safety, saw Cayon adding two more to their overnight goal tally.
Vinceroy Nelson and Shaquille Pringle were the players who - in the 62nd and 76th minutes, respectively - added the goals to the two that were already scored by Javeim Blanchette (32') and Carlos Bertie (49').
With that victory, Cayon Rockets now sit atop the table with six points, thus qualifying for the Championships, while the Superstars have no point from their two games.
Meanwhile, the Superstars have been eliminated from the race.
In the second game, H.E. Garden Hotspurs have kept alive their bid for a spot in the Finals when they drew nil-all with S.L. Horsford St. Paul’s.
That result has moved Spurs to third position with one point, while St. Paul’s sit second and would need at least a draw to guarantee themselves a spot in the Finals.
Action continues tomorrow with Garden Hotspurs and Village Superstars balling from 6:00 p.m., followed by St. Paul’s taking on Cayon at 8:00 p.m. at the same venue.
