BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - DESPITE a two-week break between the Playoffs and the Finals of the SKNFA Final Four Championship, FLOW 4G Cayon Rockets showed no rust and continued from where they left off when they brushed aside H.E. Garden Hotspurs 2-nil last evening (Jun. 11).

Playing at Warner Park before a large crowd, the defending Champions looked set to retain their title when Javeim Blanchette opened the scoring in the 7th minute.

But Spurs didn’t let up as they valiantly fought in an encounter that saw seven yellow cards being shown to players from both teams.

A comical error from Spurs’ Rackel Allen in the 40th minute saw him netting an own goal, which dented their hopes of clawing their way back in the game.

Despite producing opportunities, Spurs could not break their opponents’ formidable defence, which has seen Cayon now one win away from retaining the title.

Four players from H.E. Garden Hotspurs were issued yellow cards – Shawn Williams in the 32nd minute, Kennedy Isles in the 33rd, Hasani Flemming in the 45th and Alex Saddler in the 76th minute.

And for FLOW 4G Cayon Rockets, Javeim Blanchette received a yellow card in the 51st minute, Kevin Benjamin in the 53rd and Kareem Galloway in the 60th minute.

All eyes will now turn to game two in the best-of-three series on Wednesday (Jun. 14).
