BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE St. Kitts-Nevis Amateur Athletics Association (SKNAAA) has selected a 21-member team for the OECS Championships slated for this week-end (Jul. 1-2) in Grenada.
The SKNAAA in a statement yesterday (Jun. 27), announced that a squad comprising 14 males and seven females would be competing at the third Organization of Eastern Caribbean States Championships.
Among the strong line-up are Lestrod Roland, Jason Rogers and Antoine Adams who will be competing in the sprint events; while on the distaff side sprint sensation Tameka Williams will be competing in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m Relay; Shanice Elliott in the 4x100m Relay; and Stavia Lewis in the Discus and Shot Put events.
The two-day event will feature some of the best and promising athletes from the OECS, with all vying to attain the various qualifying standards for the World Outdoor Championships slated for August in London, England.
According to the SKNAAA, this would be the final event for the athletes to attain the qualifying standards for that meet.
Meanwhile, the winning nation will be determined by the amount of Gold Medals it captures at the end of the meet.
The team will be led by Head Coach Stewart Joseph with Francis Morris as Manager and Assistant Coach Llewelyn Pyke.
