Police Press Release 10-07-2017: Report of arrests, convictions and other activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 10, 2017 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period 5th – 9th July 2017.

     

    Arrested: Terrance Williams of Pond's Pasture was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Larceny committed Monday 3rd July 2017. 
     
    Arrested: Crispin Crossley of Fort Thomas Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply which was committed on Sunday 2nd July 2017. 
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Shakiel Dore of Ottley's Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis With Intent to Supply and Cultivation of Cannabis, committed on Friday 6thJuly 2017 at Ottley's Village. He was granted bail in the sum of $15,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, 14th August, 2017.
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Jevon Matthew of Taylor's Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving without  due care and attention  driving without seat belt, Failing to comply with traffic Signal, Permitting Another to drive without License and Insurance. Offence committed on Thursday 6th July 2017 at Kim Collins highway. He was granted bail in the sum of $8000.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Thursday 13th July, 2017 
     
    OTHER ACTIVITY:
    Building Breaking and Larceny: Police responded to four reports of Building Breaking and Larceny that occurred in Vaughn's Village (Nevis), Sandy Point Community and two in Old Road. All scenes were processed by the Crime Scene Unit.  Investigations are ongoing. 
     
    Abandoned Properties: Police continues to execute searches of abandoned properties; most recent searches was done in the following areas: Conaree, Upper Cayon, Upper Monkey Hill, Tabernacle, Dieppe Bay, Sandy Point and (4) Houses at Lodge Project. The search was for Controlled Drugs, Arms, Ammunition and Stolen Goods.
     
    Search Warrants Executed: Police executed a number of search warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: Willette's  Project (St. Pauls), Bird Rock, Upper Cayon, Phillip's Village, Mansion, Tabernacle, Sandy Point, Old Road, Dieppe Bay and Rawlins Village (GingerLand). 
     
    Marijuana Plants Uprooted: A patrol of officers reported that they discovered and uprooted seven (7) marijuana plants that were growing in pots ranging from three (3) to six (6) feet in height in the Phillips area.  
     
    A combined patrol of men of the Anti- Narcotics Unit and members of SKNDF reported that over the period of this report they discovered, uprooted and seized a total of  Three Hundred Seventy-Nine (379) Marijuana Plants in the following locations. Ottley's Village, Church Ground and Rawlins Village both areas in (Nevis)
     
    Traffic Accidents: There were a number of accidents on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts during the period of this report. None involved serious injuries to drivers or passengers. 
     
    Citizen Safety: Police continue to conduct Vehicle Check Points and Stop and Searches along the island main road on St. Kitts and Nevis. Officers continue to conduct searches of abandoned properties and lots. The execution of search warrants continue as well. These activities are being conducted in support of anti-crime objectives to remove illegal firearms and ammunition, illegal drugs and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes from our communities
