CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – A MAN, found yesterday (June 18) with an unlicensed firearm at the Charlestown Pier, was arrested and taken to the Charlestown Police Station.
According to police reports, during a routine surveillance at the Charlestown Pier, officers stopped and searched Omari ‘Ants’ Riley of Market Street, St. Kitts and also of Craddock Road, Nevis and a .38 revolver and five rounds of ammunition on his person.
Police reports further state that Riley had just returned to Nevis from St. Kitts when he was searched on suspicion of having drugs, arms and ammunition.
Riley was taken to the police station, where he was formally charged for “possession of firearm” and “possession of ammunition”.
This find marks the 16th illegal firearm taken off the Federation’s streets for the year – seven on Nevis and nine on St. Kitts.
