BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – News reaching SKNVibes state that Chris Brown pleaded guilty yesterday (June 22) to felony charges brought against him in an incident involving his ex-girlfriend, Barbadian Grammy Award winner Rhianna Fenty.

According to ABC News, his lawyer, Mark Geragos announced minutes before the preliminary hearing yesterday that a deal had been struck with prosecution.

The media house further stated that Brown could have faced four years in prison for felony charges of assault and making criminal threats, but would only serve five years probation and 1 400 hours of community service, which he may be allowed to serve in his home state of Virginia.

He also cannot be within 50 yards of Fenty unless they are required to be at the same event, in which he cannot come within 10 yards of her.

He was also banned from having any phone or e-mail contact with her.

According to Caribbean World News, Brow was accused of beating the `Rehab` singer on February 8 in a rented Lamborghini after the two attended a swanky music industry party on the eve of the industry`s Grammy Awards.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the incident occurred after brown received a text message from an unidentified woman and Rihanna confronted Brown while the two were in the vehicle.

A police photo of Rihanna`s bruised and battered face taken after the incident was leaked to the media. Brown`s plea means that evidence against him will not be heard in an open court.
