    Philadelphia, PA.  Worrell D. Nero J.D. I.E. Honorary Consul General in Philadelphia for St. Kitts- Nevis was part of a high ranking delegation on an International Trade Mission to the City of Philadelphia, June 9 – 14, 2009.  Mr. Nero, who has practiced law in Philadelphia for over 30 years, was recently inducted into the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.   The delegation was led by St. Kitts-Nevis Attorney General, Dennis Merchant; and included St. Kitts-Nevis Ambassador to the USA, Izben Williams; St. Kitts-Nevis UN Ambassador, Delano Bart; Ambassador Rosalyn Hazelle, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade; Jacinth Henry-Martin, Tourism Director-USA; Abdullah Skerritt, Tourism e-Business Director; Christopher Herbert, St. Kitts IT Specialist and Mahesh Nariani from the private sector.
     
    Mayor Michael Nutter, many local business owners, corporate supports, Philadelphians and Kittitians welcomed the delegation with an official ceremony at City Hall which was filled to capacity for the occasion.  After delivering warm welcoming remarks to the St. Kitts-Nevis delegation, the mayor presented each delegate with a personally engraved “Liberty Bell,” which is the highest gift anyone could receive from the City of Philadelphia. 
     
    The International Trade Mission held back-to-back meetings with various entities – both governmental and private sector – interested in creating commerce ties with St. Kitts- Nevis.  
    These included a bountiful and productive dialogue with Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC), during which the avenues for exchanging best practices were explored.  Other meetings included discussions and tours with Philadelphia International Medicine (PIM), the U.S. Commercial Service, and the Port of Philadelphia. 
     
    The official visit ended with a commencement ceremony, at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum, host by Agnes Ogletree who facilitated the entire mission.  Among the attendees were Dr. Fred Simeone, founder; Congressman Chaka Fattah; various business stakeholders from the City of Brotherly Love & Sisterly Affection; and national of St. Kitts-Nevis, based in Philadelphia.
