BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – REVELLERS of the 13th annual St. Kitts Music Festival are advised to take heed of the following security measures that will be implemented by the Royal St. Christopher-Nevis Police Force.

This year’s Festival will occur from Thursday to Saturday night (June 25-27) at the Warner Park Stadium on Victoria Road. It will feature performances from an array of national, regional and international musical artistes including Road March Champions Grand Masters Band, Jamaican reggae singer Beres Hammond and American rapper and singer T-Pain.

According to a police communiqué released yesterday (June 23), the entrance to the stadium for patrons will be at the main gate on the western end of Lozack Road. There will be a dedicated lane at the main entrance for persons with VIP tickets. Access to the corporate boxes will be via the gate on Lozack Road, east of the police station.

It further stated that once inside, patrons would be allowed entry to the western mound, the south stands and the grounds in front of the stage. Only persons with special access passes will be permitted to enter backstage and the artistes’ dressing rooms. Additionally, persons will need the appropriate passes to access the corporate boxes, which are above the south stands.

Patrons should also take heed of the following measures.

“All persons entering the stadium will be subjected to a security screen. No video or digital cameras will be allowed in the stadium. No firearms, glass bottles, knives or any other weapon will be allowed on the premises.

“No standing will be permitted in the stands. Patrons are asked to keep the walkways in the stands free at all times. Police officers, fire officers and private security personnel will be on duty at the stadium to enforce these restrictions.”

The gates will be opened at 6:30 p.m. nightly. The police are soliciting the public’s cooperation to ensure the safety and security of Festival patrons.
