BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE TDC Group of Companies has yet again chipped in to help someone in need. This time it is through a partnership with non-governmental organization Champs for Charity Foundation.

The company had partnered with the charitable organization and donated an undisclosed sum of cash to assist fire victim Kassandra Henry.

At a ceremony held at TDC’s Home and Building Depot on the Frigate Bay Road, it was explained that Champs for Charity sought to raise monies to assist Henry after her home was destroyed by fire.

TDC reached out and gave the money to the NGO, which in turn purchased a gas stove for the victim and yesterday afternoon (Aug. 22) handed it over to her.

Henry expressed gratitude for the timely donation on the part of the two entities, which she noted would go a long way.

“I am grateful and thankful for the new brand stove, because it was kind of difficult, you know, but I’m thankful and blessed.”

Recounting her ordeal in relation to the fire, Henry said she had left her home for work on Monday, July 4, and upon reaching Boyd’s she received a phone call indicating that it was on fire.

“… I told them that it is not my house. The young lady told me she would call back and she hung up. When she did call back she said you need to jump off the bus. I asked her why, and she said it is your house on fire.”

The emotional Henry stated that upon arriving at her Sandy Point home, the entire building was engulfed in flames – thus losing all of her belongings.

She is now in the process of rebuilding her life.

Champs for Charity is said to have become a very popular NGO that has provided for many people who were and are in need.

Just recently the entity had donated to an employee of Island Auto Supplies for him to travel to Cuba to have a tumour removed.

The NGO had partnered with Island Auto Supplies and raised the money for the young man.
