BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IN its ongoing programme of rendering assistance to those in need, the Champs for Charity Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, yesterday (Aug. 24) donated a quantity of food supplies to the Child Evangelism Fellowship.
Just earlier this week, the NGO, in collaboration with TDC Group of Companies, had handed over a stove to Kassandra Henry, whose home and belongings were destroyed by fire earlier this year.
This time, the NGO has partnered with the RAM’S Group of Companies to assist the religious institution which is hosting several regional delegates for a training camp this weekend.
Chairperson for the Champs for Charity Foundation, Shirley Julius, who was present at the RAM’S Bird Rock outlet for the presentation, indicated that the response from the business community to give back to those in need has been tremendous.
“I must say that the local business persons have come onboard and really rallied behind us in what every charitable gesture to help us to support our communities.”
National Director for Child Evangelism Fellowship, Mavis Huggins intimated that the body came to St. Kitts six years ago, but it has been in existence for some eighty years.
She expressed her gratitude for the donation and the partnership between RAM’S and the NGO.
“I am really happy for this collaboration with this organization. I happen to meet Shirley, and once I was talking to her about what I do and she said she has an organization and if you ever need help give me a call. Now we are at this point,” a smiling Huggins said.
Meanwhile, General Manager of the RAM’S Bird Rock location, Rudolph Jamuna told SKNVibes that his company is happy to be giving back to the St. Kitts and Nevis community.
He explained that to assist those in need was the vision of the late founder of the company.
“The RAM’S Group of Companies has always been loved and supported by the customers and the community. ..Because of the St. Kitts community, we are where we are today.”
The establishment has been an avid supporter of community ventures and has given back to many educational institutions in various forms.
The Group of Companies has also assisted with a number of scholastic meets and sponsorship of various sports disciplines, as well as partnering with the St. Kitts-Nevis Football Association in sponsoring one of the teams.
