Police Press Release 31-08-2017: Report of arrests, convictions and other activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, August, 31 2017, (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period August 28-30 2017.

     

    ARREST AND BAIL:  
    Arrested: Alyston Douglas, of St. Paul's was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the following offences; two (2) Possession of firearm, one (1) possession of ammunition and two (2) possession of firearm with intent by means thereof to endanger life.  
     
    Arrested: Tijmah Jones of St. Paul's was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the following offences; two (2) Possession of firearm, one (1) possession of ammunition and two (2) possession of firearm with intent by means thereof to endanger life.  
     
    Arrested: Tobesea Cannonier of Parson Ground was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
     
    Arrested: Adam Sam of Clay Ghaut was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Larceny. 
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Scott Carey of Gingeland Nevis was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of driving without a valid or unexpired license and driving without insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00 for his appearance at Basseterre Magistrate Court on Friday 1st September.
     
    Bailed: Kevin Rouse of Fortland, Basseterre who was arrested and charged for the offence of possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and driving when not covered by Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $15,000.00 E.C dollars for his appearance at the Magistrate Court on 4th October 2017. 
     
    COURT CONVICTIONS:
    In Matters at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Karen Hill-Hector, the following convictions were handed down:

    -Eugene Seeraj of Molyneaux who was charged with the offence of Driving Without Due Care and Attention was found guilty and was fined $500 ECD to be paid by 15th September 2017 or in default serve thirty (30) days in prison. 

    -Valentine Paris of Phillip's Village who was charged with the offence of Driving Without Drivers License and Driving when not covered by Insurance was found  guilty and was fined $300 ECD on each count to be paid by 15th September 2017 or in default serve thirty (30) days in prison. 
     
    In Matters at the Charlestown Magistrate Court presided over by her Honor Yasmine Clarke and the following Conviction(s) were reported:

    -Lincoln Amory of Craddock Road was convicted and sentence to Two Years (2)  for two counts of Larceny. Sentences will run concurrently, 

    -Vayron Cole of Brick Kiln was convicted and cautioned for possession of cannabis.   
     
    OTHER ACTIVITY:  
    Search Warrants Executed: Police executed a number of Search Warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: Farms Housing (Sandy Point), Parson Ground, Tabernacle, King Street, Buckley's, Salt Pond Alley and Pitcairn Street. The warrants were executed in search of illegal firearms and ammunition, illegal drugs, and instruments that can be used in criminal activity.   
       
    Abandoned Properties: Police continue to execute searches of abandoned properties; most recent searches were done in the following areas: St. Johnson Village, Nevis Street, Fort Thomas, Parry Housing (Monkey Hill), Dorset, Lower Cayon, Buckey's and Trafalgar Village. 
     
    Marijuana Plants Uprooted: A patrol of officers discovered and seized (374) Three Hundred an Seventy Four marijuana plants in Blue Belle Alley Basseterre area. The Plants ranged from three to (3-5) feet in height.  
     
    Citizen Safety: Police continue to conduct stop and searches, vehicular check points, searches of ferry terminals and marinas, and mobile patrols around the Federation. These are being done in efforts to remove illegal firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs and instruments that can be used to commit crimes from our communities.
