GIS, 4 September 2017 - His Excellency the Governor Augustus Jaspert in consultation with Premier, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE and the Director of the Department of Disaster Management has activated the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC).
The NEOC has been activated in response to the threat posed by Hurricane Irma.
As the hurricane approaches, check your disaster supplies kit and obtain any necessary items, refill prescriptions, make sure your surroundings are clear of potential flying debris, protect your windows and glass doors, fill your car with gas, secure your boat and keep cash on hand.
Continue to listen to local media stations for tips, weather advisories and the latest information pertaining to the Hurricane Irma. Information will also be available on DDM’s website at www.bviddm.com and Facebook page BVI DDM.
