Dominica: Public Closure Notice 18th September due to Tropical Storm Maria

    Sunday, September 17, 2017 — At a Press Conference held at 6:00 p.m. this evening, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit made the following announcements in light of the Hurricane Warning that has been placed on Dominica:

     

    1) All schools will be closed tomorrow Monday, Sept. 18

    2) All Government businesses with exception of essential services will be closed tomorrow Monday

    3) Government is advising private sector to keep their businesses closed tomorrow

    Cabinet will be taking a decision to declare Monday, Sept. 18 a Public Holiday.

    Shelter managers have been advised to open all shelters. Cots and mattresses are being sent to these shelters. All officers of essential services were recalled at 5:00 a.m. (those on Off Days and those on Holidays) today.
