By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -THIRD grade students of Irish Town Primary were recent beneficiaries of school supplies from the Concerned Citizens For A Better McKnight.

At a simple ceremony held at the school, the group donated backpacks, exercise books, pens, pencils, sharpeners and boxes of crayons, among other necessities.

The group, primarily made up of overseas-based McKnight residents including Seymour Davis, Lloyd Hendricks and Hildred Rawlins, sought the assistance of those in the Diaspora and in the St. Kitts to make the donation of 25 backpacks.

In a statement, the group said it feels that the contribution would greatly assist parents with school expenses.

This is the seventh successive year that the group had made of donations to the Irish Town primary School.

During the school’s last graduation ceremony, the group had present its prestigious triple ‘A’ award (Academics, Athletics and Attitude) to Raheem Edwards along with a $700 gift certificate.

The group is encouraging the students to continue to work hard in school, to perfor to the best of their ability and “reach higher for a better future”.

The group thanked officials at the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance in particular, the Customs and Excise Department and former residents of the McKnight community who are residing overseas.
