KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent - ELEVEN calypsonians have been selected to compete in the 2009 St. Vincent Calypso Finals scheduled for Dimanche Gras on Sunday (July 5) at the Victoria Park commencing at 8:00 p.m.
They are Dennis Bowman, Carlos ‘Rejector’ Providence, Errol ‘De Man Age’ Rose, Alvin ‘Zion I’ Dennie, Robert ‘Patches’ Knights, Kenneth ‘Vibrating Scakes’ Alleyne, Fitzroy ‘Bro Ebony’ Joseph, Glenroy ‘Sulle’Caesar, Bridgette ‘Joy C’ Creese, Gosnel ‘GC’ Cupid and Michael ‘Black Messenger’ John.
The 10 men and lone woman were selected from amongst 22 calypsonians who competed in the Semi-finals on Friday, June 19, where they each performed one song.
Each competitors will have to perform two songs in the Finals and will be coming up against defending Monarch, Monique ‘Princess Monique’ Hector.
