BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – JUST two days after David ‘Putty’ Wilkinson of West Farm was shot and killed in Old Road, another man was reportedly stabbed to death in Lower Cayon and it is alleged that the act was committed by his brother.
The incident occurred some time after 7:00 tonight (Oct. 9) and the name of the deceased was given as Mervin Flaherty.
According to information reaching this publication, Flaherty was stabbed during an altercation with an older siblings at the family’s home in Lower Cayon opposite The Green Valley Pub.
He was reportedly rushed to the JNF General Hospital in a private vehicle but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Additional information stated that O'Flaherty, a certified pilot, was residing in Tortola and had recently arrived in St. Kitts after learning that his mother had died last week and would be laid to rest some time this week.
Earlier reports had stated that after committing the crime, the perpetrator had fled the scene, but this media house subsequently learned that he is currently in police custody.
Mervin Flaherty’s death has taken to 20 the number of homicides committed in the twin-island Federation for this year; seven on Nevis and 13 on St. Kitts.
