On Friday, February 24, 2017, the then 18-year-old Peets was returning to the Federation from St. Martin via the Vance Amory International Airport, where she was searched by ranks of the Nevis Division of the Federation’s Police Force and members of Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise Department.

She was found with seven packages of cocaine in her possession, which this media house learnt had weighed approximately 2.5 kilos.

Peets, who, at the time of committing the offence, was a student at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College.

She was born in the Dominican Republic but had taken up residence in St. Kitts at a tender age.
