Lodge extends supremacy over champions Unity in Constituency Seven Domino League

All eyes are on Evernton Boon of Lodge as he was placing a dice in the dying minutes of their game against Unity
By: Peter Ngunjiri, Press Release

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, October 27, 2017 (PLP PR Media Inc.) -- Those harbouring the notion that it was by fluke Lodge had beaten defending champions Unity in the first round of the round robin stage in the 22nd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition were explicitly proven wrong on Thursday evening October 26.

The former champions Lodge repeated the feat when the two teams met at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project and incidentally beat the current champions Unity by an identical score-line of 13-11. The two did not have any ‘away’ disadvantage as the community centre is the home ground for both the teams.

If what transpired on Thursday night is anything to go by, Lodge who finished at the top of the first round of the round-robin stage of the tournament are all geared towards reclaiming the title they lost to Unity.

Unity had the upper hand in the early stages of the game, at one time leading 7-4. Lodge fiercely fought back and levelled the game at 9-9. Unity quickly grabbed two points to lead 11-9, but that was all Lodge allowed them.

Lodge, the team seeking to reclaim the Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League supremacy surged ahead without dropping a point and won 13-11 in the game that ended at 11:15 pm.

Of the seven games played on Thursday evening, Sylver’s Domino Club under Captain Octavia Huggins was the only other team after Lodge that managed to win both home and away legs when they humiliated Christchurch 13-3 in a game played at Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village. In the first round Sylver’s had beaten Christchurch 13-10.

All the other results were revenge wins. Molineux who had in the first round lost to Giants registered a reverse win in a game played at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux returning a score line of 13-5. Mansion Upsetters revenged a first round loss by beating Tabernacle 13-9 in a game played at Domino House in Mansion.

Other revenge wins were recorded by Unstoppable who beat their first round conquerors Small Corner 13-10 in a game played at the Lodge Community Centre. Guinness who had lost to Parsons in the first round did not take to any board to push dices as they won 13-0 after Parsons failed to turn up at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village.

In the final revenge game of the night Beers who had in the first round lost to Saddlers when they travelled to Constituency Number Six made good their revenge by beating the visiting Saddlers at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village 13-11.

Constituency Seven Domino League moves ahead in the second round of the round robin stage with the seventh segment of seven games that will be played on Tuesday October 31 at five venues. All games start at 7:30 pm. Lodge Community Centre will host two games with Lodge coming up against Tabernacle, and Beers facing it off with Giants.

The Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux will also host two games, with Molineux meeting Saddlers, and Unstoppable coming up against Sylver’s. Other games will see Parsons hosting Unity at Rousey’s Place on Main Street in Parsons; Guinness meeting Mansion Upsetters at Domino House in Mansion, and Christchurch facing it off with Small Corner at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village.
