St Christopher Children's Home Family Walk and Run

By: St Christopher Children's Home, Press Release

November 16th, 2017 -- With only a few days to go before the 8th Annual Family Walk and Fun Run to be held this Saturday 18th November 2017, final sponsors and arrangements are being confirmed by the Fund Raising Committee.

“With our final meetings to review logistics and ensure our volunteers are prepared for Saturday, it’s been a hectic last few weeks” stated Chairperson, Ms Kym Taylor. “After the devastation of September and everyone redirecting support to our brothers and sisters in neighbouring islands, we appreciate that the St Kitts community both private and corporate are exhausted. We hope that this fun and very worthwhile event provides a wonderful afternoon activity for friends and family to participate in while supporting a local organization.”

“We recognize that the last few months have changed many things for local sponsors and this is reflected in a decrease in financial commitments to the cause this year,” added Ms Margaret Stevens, “so we thank everyone for the support that they have been able to offer. Whilst our corporate sponsors do provide the majority of the funds raised, every little bit helps and we hope the public will come out in large numbers on Saturday and enjoy the afternoon.”

Tickets for the event can be pre- purchased at Harpers with locations in Fort Street and the Industrial site as well as Digicel in Fort Street up to the morning of Saturday 18th November.  Adult prices are EC$50.00 and children over 6 and up to 12 years are EC$25.00 and the participant will receive an event t-shirt, participant number and lunch ticket for the BBQ lunch kindly provided by the St Kitts Marriott Resort following the event.

Free transportation kindly provided by the Marriott is available from opposite KFC and the Fire Station to and from the event with the first transfer starting at 2.30pm and will continue every 30 minutes until the last shuttle back from the event at 6.30pm

“We have a number of great raffle prizes available throughout the afternoon, along with a local DJ, and will have face painting available for the younger children as entertainment” advised Ms Taylor, “ and with the support of Carib Breweries also have available for sale draft local beer for the adults. Raffle tickets will be EC$5 each and with prizes including a stay at Belmont Farm, restaurant vouchers, catamaran cruises and more please do come prepared. After all, you have to be in it to win it when it comes to raffles!”

Further details about the Home can be found on our website at stchristopherchildrenshome.org or on Facebook at St Christopher Children’s Home – St Kitts or by calling us at 465 4007.

We look forward to seeing everyone come out and support the 8th Annual St Christopher Children’s Home Walk and Run on Saturday November 18th 2017 at 3pm and have a wonderful afternoon!
