Unity squares it off with Small Corner in Constituency Seven Domino League

Ericson Wescott of Guinness makes a move as his team avenged first round loss at the hands of Beers

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, November 17, 2017 (PLP PR Media Inc.) -- Small Corner Domino Club was the first of the fringe teams that managed to beat defending champion Unity in the first round of the round robin stage of the on-going 22nd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition.

     

    But when the two met for the second round on Thursday evening November 16 at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project, Unity Domino Club under Captain Edmund ‘Fergie’ Rawlins rose to the occasion and reversed the score-line, beating Small Corner 13-11. Small Corner had also beaten Unity 13-11 in the first round.
     
    Another three teams revenged their first round loses on Thursday evening, overturning tables on the very teams that had beaten them. Guinness beat Beers 13-10 at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village, Giants beat Parsons 13-7 at the Lodge Community Centre, and Christchurch narrowly beat Saddlers 13-12 at the Domino House in Mansion.
     
    Three teams extended the win registered in the first round over their opponents. Lodge beat Molineux 13-4 at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux, and Unstoppable narrowly beat Mansion Upsetters 13-12 at the same venues, while Sylver’s beat Tabernacle 13-9 at the T-Vill’s Hang Out Spot in Tabernacle Village.
     
    According to the league organiser, Calvin Farrell, latest point standing indicate that Lodge was leading at the end of the twelfth segment in the second round of the round robin stage having amassed a total of 122 points, followed by defending champion Unity with 101 points, and in third place is Saddlers with 99 points.
     
    Others are Beers (91), Sylver’s (84), Tabernacle (84), Molineux (80), Upsetters (74), Unstoppable (72), Christchurch (64), Giants (50), Guinness (46), Small Corner (45), and Parsons (30).  
     
    The second round of the home and away round robin stage of the 22nd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition comes to an end with the final segment of play on Tuesday November 21. There will be seven games at five centres, with all games starting at 7:30 pm.
     
    The Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project and the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux will each host two games. Top title contender and former champion Lodge Domino Club will be at home to Guinness at the Lodge Community Centre, while the second game at this venue will see Giants facing it off with Sylver’s.
     
    At the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion, Molineux will be meeting Christchurch, in one of the two games at the venue, while Unstoppable will be meeting Saddlers.
     
    T-Vill’s Hang Out Spot in Tabernacle Village will see home team Tabernacle entertaining Small Corner, while in other games Parsons will be hosting Beers at Rousey’s Place on Main Street in Parsons, and Mansion Upsetters will be using home advantage to attempt to wrestle down defending champion Unity at the Domino House in Mansion.
