    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 3RD 2009 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is to make a statement on his recent visit to Libya.

     

    Dr. Douglas, who left here last week Friday, accompanied by Minister of Public Works, Utilities, Transport and Posts, Dr. the Hon. Earl Asim Martin, returned home early Thursday morning.

     

    On the flight were the Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves and the Prime Minister of Dominica, the Hon. Roosevelt Skerritt, who left Thursday afternoon for Guyana, venue for the 30th Meeting of the CARICOM Heads of Government Conference.

     

    St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica and St. Vincent and the Grenadines officials, along with government representatives of Haiti, St. Lucia, Grenada, Jamaica and Antigua and Barbuda were in Tripoli, the Libyan capital for talks with the Libyan President, His Excellency Moammar Gadhafi.

     

    Dr. Douglas’ statement on the trip to Libya will be made during Friday’s sitting of the National Assembly.
