One hospitalised in Buckley’s shooting

    BASSETERRE, Dt. Kitts – POLICE on St. Kitts are investigating an attempted murder incident in Buckley’s Housing that has left one man nursing bullet wounds at the JNF General Hospital.

     

    According to a police communiqué, the shooting victim is 39-year-old Devon ‘Cocksman’ Jeffers of Buckley’s Housing.

    It stated that enquires so far revealed that about 6:08 last evening (Nov. 28), while Jeffers was playing a game with several others by Steve’s Shop in Buckley’s, “someone or some persons approached them and opened fire”.

    “Devon was grazed on one side of his body and received a shot to the other. He was able to make his way to the JNF Hospital where he was treated and is warded in stable condition,” the communiqué added.

    The sce was reportedly processed by members of the Crime Scene Unit and items of evidential value were taken into custody.

    The communiqué also stated that officers had visited the hospital and conducted interviews.  

    Investigations into this incident are ongoing.

    This shooting incident comes just three days after the death of 27-year-old Theon ‘Chubby’ Audain, who was shot multiple times, reportedly near an alley on Wigley Avenue.

    His death had taken to 22 the number of homicides committed in the twin-island Federation for this year; eight on Nevis and 14 on St. Kitts.
