Police Press Release: Report of arrests, convictions and other activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 12, 2017(RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period December 01-07, 2017.

     

    Arrested:  Cajan Simmonds of Central Shaw Avenue was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Larceny.

    Arrested: Roshane Pinnock, a national of Jamaica who resides at Butlers Village, was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving without insurance and Driving without a valid and unexpired licence.

    Arrested: Ezrian Francis of Soho Project Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of cannabis and Possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

    Arrested: Juwone Warner of Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of cannabis and Possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

    Arrested: Alex Harris of Conaree Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Receiving.

    Arrested: Elwood Benjamin of College Street Ghaut was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Building breaking and Larceny.

    Arrested: Joseph Charles of Backway, Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of cannabis and Possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

    Arrested: Noel Norford of Saddlers Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of ammunition. 

    Arrested: Joseph Gardener of Saddlers Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of ammunition.

    Arrested: Tawana Maynard of Saddlers Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of ammunition.

    Arrested/Bailed: Gary Webster of Parson Ground was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of cannabis and Possession of cannabis with intent to supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on Monday, January 08, 2018.

    Arrested/Bailed: Javon Carey and of Saddlers Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of cannabis and Possession of cannabis with intent to supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on January 08, 2018. 

    Arrested/Bailed: Leroy Carey of Saddlers Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of cannabis and Possession of cannabis with intent to supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on January 08, 2018. 

    Bailed: Carlos Aleman of Potworks was granted bailed in the sum of $50,000 with the following conditions: he is to report himself to the Charlestown Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.; he must surrender all of  his travel documents to the High Court; and he must not approach the virtual complainant or anyone else in the matter. Any violation of his bail conditions would amount to immediate revocation of bail.

    Bailed: Shavern Scott of Stapleton Village, who was charged with the offence of Wounding with intent, was granted bail in the amount of $25,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court in May, 2018.

    Bailed: Jayson Arthur of Needsmust Estate, who was arrested for the offence of Battery, was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, December 04, 2017.  

    Bailed: Mohinda Kanhai of Jessup's Village, who was charged with the offences of Driving without due care and attention, Driving under the influence of alcohol and Driving while not being the holder of a valid and unexpired license, was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on December 05, 2017. 
     
    COURT CONVICTIONS:

    In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, presided over by His Honour Mr. Reynold Benjamin, the following convictions were reported:

    - Samuel Sutton of Bird Rock pleaded guilty to Careless driving and was fined $350 to be paid in twenty (21) days or, if in default, serve fourteen (14) days imprisonment.

    - Andrew Wilson of Lodge Village pleaded guilty to careless driving and was fined $350 to be paid in fourteen (14) days or if in default, serve fourteen (14) days imprisonment.

    - Carlton Hanley of Cardin Avenue was found guilty for careless driving and was cautioned.

    - Alpheus Mulrane of Keys pleaded guilty to Careless driving and was cautioned.

    - Davin Henry of Cayon pleaded guilty to Careless driving and was fined $750 or, if in default, serve one (1) month imprisonment.
     
    OTHER ACTIVITY:

    Building Breaking and Larceny: Police responded to several reports of building breaking and larceny that occurred in the following areas and at the following locations: the Washington Archibald High School, Ponds Pasture (Newtown), Upper Monkey Hill, the Cable & Wireless Building (Needmust), Horizon Villas, Molyneaux, the Seventh-Day Adventist Primary School, Pond Road and Lodge Village.

    Search Warrants Executed: Police executed several search warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: Cane Gardens, Butlers, Rawlins Ground (St. Paul’s), Prospect Estate, Pitcairn Street (Newtown), Christ Church, Mansion and Hamilton Estate.
